Orienteering in the Loonse Duinen – A story by Nathalie

To be really honest, I didn’t know what I was going to organize with Tuğçe when I volunteered, but I’m really glad that I did. Orienteering was a lot of fun! It’s more than just running; you have to search for targets and be aware of your surroundings. Since I helped with the organization part of this activity, we had to place the targets. Tuğçe and I started really early to place the targets on the right locations. You would think it would be an easy job (I thought so). But it was hard to find the right spots. We had to do it right otherwise the others wouldn’t find the targets. It took us about one hour and a half. You would think that the runners would have a very hard time to find the targets as well, but that was not true at all. They were back in like forty minutes, and we didn’t even see them finish… oops… Nevertheless, we had some nice hot tea after the run. I really liked it and I hope the others did so too. Next time, I would like to run myself. So who is in for another orienteering activity?
